Tennessee activities and field trips

  • Adventure Science Center 
    Formerly the Cumberland Science Museum, the Adventure Science Center is located at 800 Fort Negley Blvd. in Nashville.
  • Aquarium Restaurant Nashville 
    Guests dine while seated around a 200,000-gallon tank, home to a wide variety of fish, sharks, stingrays and more! The bottom of the sea decor and inventive menu offer guests a dining experience like no other. The Nashville Aquarium is located in Opry Mills Mall, across from the Grand Old Opry and Opryland Hotel.
  • Beech Bend Park 
    Amusement and water park, campgrounds, meeting facilities, racetracks and more. Located 60 miles north of Nashville in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
  • Belle Meade Plantation 
    Belle Meade Plantation is a 30 acre historic site 6 miles west of Nashville. The centerpiece of the property is the Belle Meade mansion built in 1853.
  • Cedar Crest Environmental Education
    The Cedar Crest EE program is a part of Cedar Crest Camp & Retreat Center, which is located in Lyles, TN along the Western Highland Rim. We are less than an hour from the Nashville area and offer learners experientially-grounded day and residential EE experiences with diverse class offerings, night programs, and team building/recreation opportunities.
  • Cedar Lake Camp 
    Christian camping in the foothills of the Cumberland Plateau.
  • Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art 
    Within its 55 acres, Cheekwood is a complex institution rich with history, beautiful gardens and fine art. The Botanical Garden showcases fine horticultural collections, acclaimed for their diversity and quality. The Museum of Art presents American and European art and is recognized as a center for contemporary art in the Southeast. These collections reside in one of the grandest estates in Nashville, the former Cheek residence.
  • County Music Hall of Fame 
    The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is operated by the non-profit, educational Country Music Foundation (CMF). The mission of the CMF is to identify and preserve the evolving history and traditions of country music and to educate its audiences.
  • Creative Discovery Museum

    Parks, community centers, historic sites and more.
  • Deer Run Retreat 
    Deer Run Retreat is located on 100 scenic, wooded acres 40 minutes south of Nashville and 10 miles from downtown Franklin, TN. and is an excellent year-round day and overnight retreat setting for families (reunions or birthday parties), churches, schools, and organizations. Deer Run provides a variety of overnight accommodations and meeting facilities including both package-price meals and excellent menu selections.   • Discovery Park of America
    Discovery Park of America, located in Union City, TN, is a 50 acre park with a 100,000 square foot museum rich in history and science. It has been called a "Miniature Smithsonian." A great "day trip" from Nashville! 
  • Falcon Rest Mansion & Gardens 
    Falcon Rest Mansion & Gardens in McMinnville, the "Victorian mansion where history is fun." It's a great place for students to learn to love history.
  • Frist Center for the Visual Arts 
    The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is a nonprofit art-exhibition center, with approximately 24,000 square feet of gallery space, dedicated to presenting the finest visual art from local, state and regional artists, as well as major U.S. and international exhibitions.
  • Goodlettsville Parks, Recreation & Tourism 
    Goodlettsville Parks, Recreation & Tourism offers programs and special events for the whole family. Parks and facilities include ball fields, walking trails, playgrounds, sand volleyball court, a dog park, shelters and picnic tables, community center with gym and a walking track, and Historic Mansker's Station. Offices located at 705 Caldwell Drive, Goodlettsville, TN.
  • Historic Mansker's Station 
    Living history site 15 minutes from Nashville. Features the Bowen House, built in 1787, Mansker's Fort, a reconstruction of a 1780 log fort station, and a Visitors Center and museum. Visitors will see how Longhunters lived a life of survival on the Tennessee frontier, juxtaposed with estate living in the Civil War era.
  • Horton Haven Christian Camp 
    Horton Haven Christian Camp is located one hour south of Nashville in Marshall Co. In the summer we offer week long resident camps for children ages 8-18. During the school year we are a retreat facility for churches, christian schools, para church organizations, and home school groups. Activities include canoeing, swimming, rappelling, challenge course, indoor climbing wall, archery, crafts, hayrides, etc.
  • Mr. Bond’s Science Guys                                                                                                                                                                                                             Mr. Bond’s Science Guys’ traveling and virtual science programs were created with the homeschooled child in mind. These hands-on science activities enhance your Homeschool curriculum. Our science instructors are enthusiastic and trained to get your kids excited about science!

  • Nashville Parks Wave Country 
    The Nashville area's only wave-action swimming pool! Ride the waves, or just let them lap at your feet. There are floats available for you to rent, and there are calm, "non-wave" periods as well. Or, have fun on the three water flumes! There's even a children's playground, and sand volleyball pits. Extensive fast-food concessions available!
  • Nashville Praise Symphony 
    The Nashville Praise GROUP is a collaboration of amateur and professional musicians joining their talents to bring glory and honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to glorify and praise God through instrumental music.
  • Nashville Predators 
    NHL hockey playing home games in downtown Nashville.
  • Nashville Shores 
    A beautiful beach located on J. Percy Priest Lake - a great place for fun or just to relax in the sun. Plus, the activity-packed Big Splash pool area promises buckets of fun for young and old. The Wacky Pond Kiddie Pool will keep little ones entertained for hours. Nine water slides offer thrills for every kid - especially the kid at heart. Pontoon boat or personal water craft rentals available by the hour, half-day or day...or inquire about renting a slip for your boat at the Nashville Shores Marina.

  • Nashville Symphony (Hits: 68)
    Located in downtown Nashville in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
  • Nashville Zoo 
    Promoting environmental and species conservation through education and recreation.
  • Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary 
    Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary is 160 acres of protected green space in northwestern Williamson County, Tennessee. Usage is dedicated to a mission of education, conservation, restoration, research, and species protection.
  • SafeHouse Outreach 
    SafeHouse Outreach is an urban outreach located in Atlanta, GA. Serving opportunities for private schools, homeschools, or church groups.
  • Scarritt-Bennett Center 
    Located at 1008 19th Ave South, between Grand and Edgehill in Nashville, TN
  • Spinghouse Theatre 
    Located at Springhouse Worship and Arts Center, just off Sam Ridley Parkway at the corner of Old Nashville Highway and Rock Springs Rd in Smyrna.
  • Tennessee Aquarium at Chattanooga 
    Located just two hours from Nashville, the Tennessee Aquarium and IMAX 3D Theater offers exciting opportunities that are both educational and fun. Situated in beautiful downtown Chattanooga right on the riverfront.
